Being Good News...

Waterloo United Free Church hosts the OPEN Arts Centre at its building on Crosby Road North.

Through the OPEN Arts initiative we aim to bring people together to enjoy social time, learn new skills and to enjoy entertainment from local artists. We work in partnership with others to make this happen, and welcome more volunteers and organisations to work with us. We hope to be able to develop the building space so that it can be even more welcoming and usable and seek funding to bring the vision of a comfortable, adaptable and welcoming space to fruition.

We have hosted a number of visiting theatrical productions, music evenings, and art related workshops: an introduction to stained glass, and beginners art. Find out more on our OPEN and Events pages.

The building is used regularly throughout the week by different community groups. The Universal Pentecostal Church (UPC) are regular hirers of the building for their meetings. Waterloo United Free Church meet on Sunday mornings and mid-week each Tuesday for Bible study. Additional church-related meetings occur throughout the year.

What we are

We aim to provide an informal, friendly atmosphere where people can discover more about following Jesus.

Our Values

Our emphasis is on being

  • A church which continually seeks God's guidance
  • A church which endeavours to become the people God wants us to be
  • A church which encourages people to know Jesus and grow in faith
  • A church with strong working relationships with other churches in the community
  • A church aspiring to serve the community

Where we fit in

Based in Waterloo on the outskirts of Liverpool, we are a caring friendly Baptist/URC church with strong links to local Christian outreach charity 'In Another Place' and a member of Churches Together in Waterloo. We offer relevant Sunday worship, Biblical study, and provide opportunities to pray and be prayed for; all within an environment of supportive friendship and pastoral care.

We are a member of the Baptist Union of Great Britian, and the United Reformed Church.  We support the work of In Another Place and work closely with Churches Together in Waterloo.
